Our Mission

Founding Forward informs and engages citizens through transformational educational experiences grounded in American history. These experiences enable students, teachers, and citizens to understand, appreciate, and practice the principles, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship.

A Future Rooted in Liberty

We envision a renewed interest in American civics grounded in the founding principles of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, as articulated in the Declaration of Independence and in which current and future citizens participate in, uphold, and improve upon our system of self-government, as established in the United States Constitution.

Who We Are

The Founding Forward Sacramento Chapter began in 2009 when a local resident, Pam Fronk, attended an awards dinner for another state’s chapter and saw something she wanted for the Sacramento area. Inviting other like-minded residents, they formed a board of directors, and the Sacramento Chapter was born.
That first year, nine students were sent to the Spirit of America program. Since the beginning, the Sacramento Chapter has sought to expand its reach and influence, sending 60-90 students annually from various local high schools to the Spirit of America program.

Educating, Inspiring, Empowering

The chapter has also focused on creating local interest in the Constitution through their Constitution Bowl and Mock Article V Convention. Dozens of awards have been given as community members are recognized annually for their service and contributions.

The Sacramento Chapter also welcomes student directors from various high schools on its board who help plan and carry out events and start service clubs at their schools.

Sacramento Volunteer Chapter Donations

Donations of any amount help us fulfill our mission and send teachers and students to attend civic education programs at Founding Forward.
