Founding Forward

Sacramento Chapter

Since its founding in 2009, the Sacramento Chapter of Founding Forward has furthered the mission, vision, and work of Founding Forward by educating and inspiring over 1500 students. As the leader in immersive civic education, Founding Forward is creating an informed and engaged citizenry and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

Education Programs and Opportunities

Students

We take students beyond the textbook and classroom to immerse them in the places and events where history happened. We instill insights and leadership skills to last a lifetime and give students a personal understanding of our country’s founding principles and their responsibilities as citizens.

Teachers

Our accredited and critically acclaimed professional development seminars and workshops enrich educators’ knowledge of history and provide inspiration to bring back to their classrooms. More than 14,000 diverse educators have deepened their understanding of America’s founding principles through courses and seminars taught by extraordinary scholars and thinkers.

Awards

Founding Forward recognizes citizens and organizations as community leaders through the National Awards program.

Middle & High School Constitution Bowl

Fall 2026

A fun and exciting competition between teams of 3-4 students based on their understanding of the founding principles as outlined in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.

Awards Banquet

March 7, 2027

Honoring National Award winners, National Youth Essay winners, Spirit of America Youth leader scholarships (SOA), Chapter Essay winners, Teacher of the Year, Constitution Bowl Winners, Mock Article Five winners and Senior Scholarships all combined with a lovely dinner and guest speaker.

Mock Article V Convention

Spring 2027

A competition between school delegations simulating a Convention of States called by Congress.

Swing For Freedom

May 7, 2027

Foursome best ball scramble (team scores will be adjusted by handicap). Entrance fee: $200 per player or $750 per foursome.
